Lake Travis Scuba was featured in a FOX 7 Austin report highlighting the growing problem of trash accumulating beneath the surface of Lake Travis. During routine dives, Robert Weiss frequently encounters cans, plastic cups, and other debris on the lake floor.
Because most of this waste sinks below the surface, many visitors enjoying the lake never realize how much trash remains underwater. Divers see a different perspective that reveals the hidden environmental impact.
Weiss used the opportunity to encourage visitors to help protect the lake by packing out their trash and being mindful of what ends up in the water.
